The Research Data Analyst will be embedded in the Office of Digital Education and report administratively through the University’s Office of Institutional Effectiveness. This individual will interface with central data offices to extract, process, and analyze data to build dashboards and standardized reports in support of the mission and operations of the Office of Digital Education. They will work collaboratively with stakeholders to develop strategies for the development and dissemination of information for use by the University, Office of Digital Education, and specific Colleges or Departments. They will conduct research primarily based in quantitative analysis, but with qualitative components as needed. They will recommend and implement strategies to enhance the data environment at the University and play a key role in communicating ongoing efforts to deliver higher education at the highest proven value.

Qualifications

Required:
Bachelor’s degree.

1 year of experience in data extraction, processing, visualization, and analysis.

In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience.

Database build and maintenance expertise with skills in programming or scripting languages such as Python, C#, MATLAB, R, etc.

Skills in a visualization software package similar to Tableau.

Ability to work with large data sets.

Effective interpersonal communication and teamwork skills. Ability to communicate with senior level administrators, faculty, staff and IT professionals.

Ability to treat confidential data with discretion.

Ability to work in a continuous quality improvement environment.

Preferred:
Degree in statistics, analytics, math, computer science, behavioral or social sciences, information technology, or higher education related fields.

3 years of experience in data extraction, processing, visualization, and analysis. (Salary will be determined based off the candidate’s qualifications related to experience and education.)

Experience with large dataset or data warehouses, particularly within higher education data.

Experience with relational databases and COGNOS or similar SQL based data query tools.
